The five facilities people ask about most
Hours are the thing that wastes trips: weekday times change with the season, weekend times mostly do not, and the landfill gate on a site keeps different hours from the drop-off gate on the same premises. Start with these five:
- Coastal Park Landfill — Baden Powell Drive, Muizenberg. Landfill weekdays only; its drop-off opens weekends.
- Vissershok Landfill — Frankdale Road off the N7. Opens earliest (07:45), takes low to medium hazardous waste, closed Sundays.
- Prince George Drive Drop-off — Grassy Park. Sundays to 17:00, the latest of any facility we checked, and it takes e-waste.
- Bellville South Landfill Drop-off — runs today as the Bellville Integrated Waste Management Facility, a transfer station; the only site with a household hazardous waste desk (50 kg/person/day, limited asbestos forms).
- Woodstock Drop-off — 25 Beach Road. Summer weekdays to 19:30 and Atlantis runs to 20:00 — the network’s two latest closes.

All City drop-off facilities close on Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
